I need to start dieting again and give it another good try and this time succeed. Anybody with me?? Would like to have another weight loss challenge, but since this is not the beginning of the year, as last year's challange was, I don't want to start a new thread just yet.
So here we go....who's on board with me? I know holidays are here, but this is a good time to start!

I am on board with you, but maybe ahead a little. I have already started and have lost 15 pounds.

That's wonderful! How long did it take you for the 15 pound drop? What are you doing?

It's been about two months. I no longer drink soda's of any kind. Don't eat much read meat. Lots of fish, like salmon and chicken. Kashi cereal, it has lots of whole grains and fruit in it. Started working out daily. I think giving up the cokes was the main thing. I used to eat lots of burgers and fries, cut that out completely. No more going to Hinze's once a week for a chopped beef sandwich. Once you stop eating all the bad stuff, you will feel so much better. Now when I wake up in the morning, I'm ready to go. Didn't feel that way before I started to change the way I eat. And no more breakfast tacos.
This is not a diet for me, it's just changing my bad habits of eating and not going back.

I totally agree with cutting out the bad stuff. I think that's my main downfall. What types of fishy meals do you cook?

I usually grill my fish, no matter what kind I cook. I usually use salmon, redfish, catfish... I season it with different things, sometimes I use Tony's or lemon pepper, or they have a seafood seasoning. Whatever kind of seasoning you like really.
I have baked it a couple of times using any of the shake and bake for chicken. It worked out good.
The main thing in changing the way you eat is will power, and lots of it.

Btw, from reading in the leader news, Louise is getting a fitness center. Does anybody know the details, will it be open soon and will there be memberships to the public available? I see they spent over 100,000 in equipment. I'm excited and looking forward to it!

I'm still losing, down to 278 from 319. It's getting harder now, only abour 1 or 2 pounds a week. Stomach has shrunk making it a lot easier. my saucer sized dinner plate fills me up. Glad to hear "rat" is on a diet too. for a while there, we had a contest on who had the largest "gut", now it's who can lose the most "gut". Keep up the good work, everybody. Since that post, I've had my up's and down's. I got down to 270 pounds and had a relapse and ballooned back up to 285. Then I got serious again and lost back down to 265 and once again the wife's cooking got the better of me, 284 pounds. Then I went to get my flight physical and the Doc said "Mr. Duster, your blood pressure is getting a bit high..............." That shock gave me re-newed determination and right now I am setting on 255 pounds. All in all I have lost, in stages, about 98 pounds. According to "Larry, the cable guy" that amounts to "eight bowling balls"
