I've backed away from my diet for a few months to let my body adjust itself. When you use starvation to lose weight after a while your metabolism will sense you are starving and your rapid loss will slow. I guess I am in a holding pattern for a couple of months and then go at it again.

I guess not. Nobody listens to me anyway, so why should you. ;D If you want to keep posting about your progress, then be my guest. Maybe it will encourage me to keep working on the healthy lifestyle.

I need to get back on mine. This week I haven't done good. The margaritas were really good though. Next week I need to hit the fitness center and get back on track.

I'm cutting back on carbs... trying to go no breads at all, been using tomato slices and celery stalks for tuna, salmon, etc. know that lettuce leaves make a fairly decent tortilla replacement..
but I had to have two or 3 crackers with sardines and kippers.. what else makes a good substitute for bread or crackers.. appreciate any ideas, no such thing as too radical..

Starting the day out right with the kind of breakfast that gives my doctor and nutritionist nightmares.

Walked a mile and a half today, but then went out for margaritas. That ruined the exercise I did. O well, tomorrow's another day.

DD, try Wasa bread. I buy it at HEB; it's high fiber, low carb and crisp like crackers. The first time I tried it I didn't like it much, but it grows on you! It comes in several kinds. I eat it with tuna or cold cuts and cheese. I'm a dedicated low-carber. It works.

The warmer it gets, the more energy I use doing chores, and the more water I drink to stave off dehydration ... so that when my day is over, after a particularly brutal day of high-calorie burn, I tend to be too tired to eat, having to force self to do so to keep system from going into starvation mode (burning muscle instead of adipose tissue).
Problem has been these back 6-weeks with all the rain, haven't been filling stomach with water to keep away the hunger paigns, which means been eating more than normally would do during summer, have only lost couple of pounds when expected to drop nearly eight.
Maybe with the dry, hot summer back, I can get back on the regimented weight loss plan without having to resort to all the roadwork (jogging that contributed to knee surgery) of years ago.

try jumping rope..........that works even better than the long hot jog Jumping rope + jumping out of perfectly good airplanes (skydiving & airborne ops) are why my left knee's had arthroscopic surgery 'n my right knees had a knee joint replacement. That's out & is worse than a long jog...

Braved the scale today. 25 pounds down from last fall/winter. Even with the margaritas.
