This statement recommends actions to be taken by persons in the following counties: Brazoria... Chambers... Galveston... Harris... Jackson... Matagorda......
Watches and Warnings- a Tropical Storm warning is in effect from Port O’Connor texas to Cameron Louisiana. Flash Flood Watch is in effect until 7 pm cdt thursday along and to the east of a line from Edna to El Campo to Houston to Conroe to Livingston
Storm information...at 1000 am the center of tropical depression nine was located near latitude 28.1 north...longitude 95.2 west or about 85 miles south-southwest of Galveston and about 135miles east of Corpus Christi moving toward the north near 6 mph. This general motion is expected to continue over the next 24 hours. On the forecast track...the center of the depression should be crossing the Texas coast within the warning area tonight. Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph with higher gusts. The depression is forecast to become a tropical storm prior to making landfall. An air force reserve unit reconnaissance aircraft is investigating the depression. estimated minimum central pressure is 1006 mb...29.71 inches.

I can get still get ya all the way from abilene tx... hahahaa its hotter then Hell up here and dry, no humidity, my skin is crawling from lack of moisture... grrrrr but enjoying the son, not sun... hope the teenage son and friends haven't tore my house apart while i'm gone......lol......

3-5/8" up here -- settled the dust, filled up the cracks in the ground, refreshed the garden and grass but not much runoff to go into the pond ... still we're happy about it!

A FEW STRONGER STORMS ARE POSSIBLE AFTER 4 AM...WITH THE POTENTIAL FOR SMALL HAIL AND GUSTY WINDS. RAINFALL AMOUNTS TONIGHT WILL AVERAGE 1/4 TO 1/2 INCH WITH ISOLATED TOTALS TO AN INCH. OTHERWISE...HAZARDOUS WEATHER IS NOT EXPECTED.
.DAY TWO...SATURDAY AND SATURDAY NIGHT
AN APPROACHING UPPER LEVEL STORM SYSTEM WILL COMBINE WITH A VERY MOIST AND UNSTABLE AIRMASS TO PRODUCE NUMEROUS SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS SATURDAY. STRONG SHEAR IN THE LOWER LEVELS OF THE ATMOSPHERE WILL SUPPORT THE DEVELOPMENT OF SUPERCELLS AND ISOLATED TORNADOES DURING THE LATE MORNING THROUGH EARLY EVENING HOURS SATURDAY. from what i've been reading, it's going to be a very serious event. everyone should be on the watch for tornadoes, hail, and strong winds. they say there hasn't been a set up like this in a long time. im charging my video camera and digital camera, just in case. batten down the hatches folks...tomorrow's going to be interesting, to say the least!
