Ok, I've had my mind in the "i need to try it again" mode and I think I'm set to it again. Going to try the Weight Watchers scale somewhat...day by day of course, slowly, but here we go... I have started a few small, very short exercise routines, just to kind of kick myself in here in a week or so. Have been working on very easy arm exercises, using cans of ravioli (lol) in each hand as weights..(believe it or not, you sure can tell a difference with a can of ravioli in each hand!) Have also been doing the kindergarten exercises, toe touches, back and forth toe touches, reach to the sky, etc... See, I said I was starting slow, but this is what works for me. Few here, few there, until I'm ready...adjusting as I go, more and more... I need a website or guidance (maybe from some of you wonderful people, perhaps) as to what types of exercises I can do that will target inner thighs, love handles, belly fat, side fat, and that ol wave the flag fat under the muscle of the arm.. Anybody want to try again? Goal is 1/2 to 1 pound a week on this system below...(Weight Watchers) My brother gave me a few pointers and handy tool... First you figure out how many points a day you need: Less than 150 lbs: 20 pts 150-174 lbs: 22 pts 175-199 lbs: 24 pts 200-224 lbs: 26 pts 225-249 lbs: 28 pts 250-274 lbs: 30 pts 275-300 lbs: 31 pts You calculate points here...very handy web-tool www.webmilhouse.com/pointcalc.phpTotal points for your weight is your daily limit... Don't forget to subtract for mayo, ketchup, etc... Also try eating better at subway...big sandwiches, about 7 points! You can use the points anyway you like... Two whole wheat waffles for breakfast = 2 points. (For example) I have to do this for my health, my back, my kids, my happiness, my life. Tired of being "the fat one"...I here now make my confession. It doesn't feel good, it doesn't look good, and well it's more important to be healthy, heart healthy, etc. (There..Phew...I said it, now I hope to stick to it)... 8 glasses of water a day. I found that taking a large glass that holds two 8 ounce glasses of water helps..... I would like to lose a goal of 50 pounds, for now. Think about it...1/2 pound to 1 pound a week... someone jump on this wagon with me???

Thanks for the points scale. I purchased a points calculator but didn't know how many I could have. I told myself the same thing. After all the beers/ritas this weekend, I need to get back in diet mode.

Thanks guys... I think the hardest part is getting past sweets.... That and well yummy food... I know it's going to be a long journey, but every day is a step. Even if replacing just one meal with a salad....at least I know it's a little healthier lol I can't seem to drink 8 glasses of water either. I feel like a sloshy water balloon after just 3!

Just so you know...
Jack n the Box bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit, alone, has 740 calories, 55 grams of fat, 2 dietary fibers...which equals 19 points....Stay away from this if you're dieting. Actually, everyone should just stay away from this no matter what! lol

"I think the hardest part is getting past sweets.... That and well yummy food..."
I found some cupcakes by the bakery at WalMart the other day. There are three in a pack and they only have 90 or 100 cals for the pack. Also the quaker oatmeal thingies with the chocolate drizzled on them. They have 90 cals a pack.

I totally blew my diet this evening. We grilled Hamburgers and had cheese dip and sweets. I said what the heck, I'll get back on the diet tomorrow.

Cant' seem to get my butt on the seat and go....little spurts here and there is better than nothing I guess.... Hey WMDM....you go ahead and eat....eat some for me too while you're at it! hehe

since the drastic weight drop while in the Orient earlier this year ... I've never gotten off the diet been on since March....therefore dont have need to start a new one
So far so good, steadily dropping little at a time (measured in ounces rather than pounds) without ill effects and no binges yet...

No miraculous secrets here. No surgical procedures either. Just a 5-6 small meals a day of lots of fresh veggies, fruits (if really busy, small microwavable meals) ... regular exercise (doing house chore, yard, garden, workshop, or homeplace; i.e. sweeping/mopping, using weedeater, raking/chopping in yard/garden, maintenance project or gadget making workshop thing, feeding livestock or fence mending) ... being a reformed drunk, no alcoholic beverages (beer or liquor w/mixers) ... mostly its not what I eat/drink BUT what I don't eat/drink, incl. desserts, highly processed foods, fatty meats, deep fried items, carbonated sodas, whole dairy products, brandname cereals, and chips (of any kind) or their dips. To lose 1 pound of body fat, one needs to burn 3500 calories more than what one eats/drinks. Taken in small doses, say 2 ounces per day, that means burning about 438 more calories than actually consume. One way to determine calorie burn is to use a calorie burn calculator, such as the one show in this site: healthresources.caremark.com -- found under cool tools, and then in the nutrition & health subsection; for me its the Daily Calorie Use Calculator ... it'll surprise you how many calories you burn doing not much of nothing or even sleeping, etc. AND for calories for fresh fruits 'n veggies, meat portions too, etc., examine their Nutrition Toolbox. The ledger I keep contains approx calories burned (from calculator above) each day & running calorie intake. Depending on amount of activities 'n appetites, calorie intake & burns vary daily. Experience & time allows for guesstimating calorie consumption when eating out. Since started this program that the wife found, I've cut back on the daily cardiovascular jogs been doing since was high school freshman, and over near 3-months, burned about 50,000 more calories than consumed for about 14.25# in body fat reduction (weight scale confirms that too). Don't become a slave to the calorie ledger, its not a religious thing. Just a guide to approximates. Perfection isn't the goal, weight lose or weight maintainence is. Good luck.
