I weigh every Wednesday. I have not lost any weight this week, although I did not gain either. Considering that New Year's eve was chips and dips night I think that was a good thing. Today .. cream of wheat for breakfast .. about 8 ounces. no lunch .. was at the doctor all day. Supper .. baked chicken ( no skin ) .. salad .. with very little dressing .. leftover greens from new year and three slices of baked potato. .. Lots of coffee.

Walked a mile on my lunch hour and then did aerobics after work today. The lady at the fitness center said not to push it.

Hows everyone doing? havent killed anyone have we? I guess it's going OK. I've been doing good about cutting my portion sizes. Haven't had a soda yet. Still haven't motivated myself to walk/run. I'll have my first official weigh-in tomorrow morning.

Well, with my weigh-in this morning, I have lost 2-1/2 lbs. I guess it is a start. Now, I just need to get into gear and start the walking and running. Hopefully, the lbs. will fly off when I start the exercising. ;D

I also lost 2 1/2 lbs. I have previously lost about 30 lbs on Weight Watchers, slacked off during the holidays, and am getting back to it. I definately recommend Weight Watchers to anyone who is serious about sticking to a plan. Along with walking, the 30 lbs came off effortlessly. I ordered the kit online ($99) and did not join the on-line group and don't go to local meetings. To be honest, I just didn't want to pay the extra $$. What I like about WW is that I can eat anything I want. It might be the ONLY thing I eat that day, but by gosh I can eat it!!!! For those of you not familiar with WW, on the points plan, you are allotted X # of points per day based on your current weight. You also "earn" extra points by exercising, and you get 35 bonus points per week. Of course, you lose more and lose faster if you don't use these bonus points, but..... if you go out to eat one night you can use your bonus points and don't have to feel like you have blown the whole thing. That was always my problem...I've blown it, so forget it and then I eat even more!!! Once you get the hang of counting points, it is not hard or time consuming. Lean Cuisine even list WW points on their foods. I am pretty much a creature of habit so I know what my usual breakfast, lunch, and snack points are. I also make quite a few casserole for supper. Using the book, you can figure out how many points your recipe is and then divide the points into how many portions it normally serves. If you join WW online, there is also a recipe counter that will do that for you. Again, I just did it myself to save the $$. Anyone interested who needs a "push" is free to pm me if you like. I was one of those who always said diets don't work on me..blah..blah..blah. Diets will work for just about any of us if we are true to it. I'm close to 50 and the weight has come off easier than I imagined. I have about another 30 - 40 to go.

Is anyone doing anything to increase their fiber intake? I remember seeing something earlier this year, that after eating 35 Gs of fiber, your body would only absorb about 25% of the saturated fats and sugars consumed.. I try to hit the 35 G's daily, not so easy, unless I have a coupla cups of pinto beans or such for breakfast.

I weighed this morning. 2 pounds less. I checked out a book from the Library called Sugar Busters, but they want you to cut out potatoes and rice. I like those. Might just cut down on carbs. Not totally get rid of them.

Whole wheat English muffin here! Woohoo! I finally had the opportunity to go get all the stuff I need for the lo-carb thing. I afforded myself on luxury, tho, since it's the end of the season and I haven't had an yet...Egg Nog! Last year, when I was pregnant, we couldn't keep that stuff in the house!
