My mower starts and stays running for 4 secs or so is it old gas or carberator(?) Cant i fix it myself?

if it sat over the winter, it very well could be water in the gas...I took a push mower one year old to stanley's and they said that was the problem.....

Sounds like bad fuel but check the air filter. Those little things can plug up fast.
Getting the yard equipment to start after setting up all winter is a pain for sure. I pulled on my tiller so much my entire shoulder hurt LOL. I don't say do it but I keep a can of starter fluid around to help get things running after sitting up. Not sure how good it is on the equipment but it sure keeps me from running out of bad words when I have a problem with getting them to start.

yeah he cleaned the carberator and the air filter last week. But... we fixed it all by ourselves. Something to do with the throttle or something. Replaced some spring ..idles a little high but got it done.
