They need to fire the pitching coach, hitting coach, the entire scouting and player development department... They were the top franchise in baseball a few years ago and now they are near the worst... Very sad to see....

I would trade (if possible) Lee, Tejada, Hampton, Matusi and Berkman. Berkman has become a prima donna and not the team leader Bagwell and Biggio were. I might even see if Oswalt has any trade value this winter. The team needs young strong arms and young hitters ready to bust into the big leagues. Wade needs to go as well. Poor judge of veteran talent and misspending money.
Bobby Valentine is available.

already hearing it was due to Racism... dammit... I guess according to the rules of Affirmative Action his records are to be adjusted by 20% or more and the Astros should still be in running.... I'm getting so tired of hearing "Racial Discrimination" as an excuse for every Non-White's Shortcommings...

I could be wrong, but I think Cooper's replacement is also black, so how can that be?

What the Astros need is a new owner! One who is willing to spend the money for quality players and not just be happy with the 32 thousand in the stands every night.

the 'stros fired the wrong guy! Ed Wade engineered the collapse by trading away all the good player backups and refused to make deals for reliable bullpen players, so he could make a rash of deals for pricey hasbeens and veterans whose best years were behind them. After Phillies fired him and he came to, Philadelphia won the World Series and have a shot at it again this year; with former Astros Brad Lidge & Eric Brunlett having chance for another ring.
As for selling the team, rumor is floating around that Drayton McClane has the team up for sale. Chance is interested buyers will take team, move them to either San Antonio or elsewhere (Tennessee, lol) and the Dynamo will move into Reliant stadium to save building another pro-sports stadium ------- with all the latinos in Houston, soccer is drawing better than baseball anyway.
