I wasn't sure where I should put this post, so it is in General Discussion and now this one.
My daughter has graduated from our private school, and I am a photographer. I want to take her senior photos/cap & gown photos. I want them to be nice. Therein lies the problem. I want to find a really pretty place to take the photos, inside or out doesn't matter to me. Outside would likely be better as I don't have fancy lighting equipment yet.
We are shooting for around the end of March, first part of April for the ceremony and the photos.
Do any of you know of a place that would make a pretty background for these photos, that wouldn't cost an arm and a leg for me to use?
Thanks for any help, advice, ideas, etc.
We are in the city limits of Wharton.

Hey there! Sorry I'm just now seeing this response. Yes, we are taking her pics at several places. We went to Varner-Hogg a week ago...but doofus me didn't pack another battery and it went dead about 5 or so shots into it. And those shots weren't the greatest. Things get fuzzy when the battery is weak. We'll go back there probably this coming Friday, if it isn't raining. That place is *loaded* with prop-ortunities There is also a museum down there in that area that has a pretty courtyard according to a website I saw (I think it was their chamber of commerce website). There is a fountain, and the pic I saw was just really pretty. If we can find it, we'll use it as a backdrop, too. Also, now that the cap and gown have finally arrived, we'll be contacting the lady that owns the Caney Lodge and asking about photographing our daughter there. Someone also suggested using the buildings downtown as a background, and I'm going to investigate that idea, too. Thanks for the help that you've offered on this. I appreciate it very much. Once I get the pics taken, I'll post some here if you want me to. I just hope that they come out good and she is happy with them. My plan is to have a book made up with the pics that I've taken of her over the last year and surprise her with it.
