This is not about hunting, but about practicing for hunting. My hubby took our 8 year old son to the B.C. Gun Club today to practice shooting. We want him to learn the correct and safe way to shoot and handle a firearm, so that when he grows up he will be comfortable handling a weapon and to also be a good shot. Here is what they were using. For those of you who don't know this is a Rock River AR15 with a 3-9x50 scope.

I just like to shoot. Sometimes at the "pistol range", that's back of the hangar, and at the "rifle range" out in the country against the canal bank. I just like to go and use up some ammo, now and then I get serious about targets and groups, etc. Right now I am playing arround with a muzzle-loading single shot pistol. I got the rate of fire down to about ten rounds an hour, but I'm having fun. I've thought about getting another one, making a presentation case and having a "brace" of dueling pistols, but they don't do that stuff any more..........now days you meet the opposing gang members in the alley and blaze away with AK-47's. OH, for the good ole days.................

I heard about a commander in Viet-Nam who told his men to return ALL automatic fire..........
Instructed his men to fire semi-auto only.

well the M-14 was a pcs of junk.. ! we had hell with it .. ! I have never seen a firing line that didn't have a gun cleaning rod laying close .. ! even on semi- it would jamb..? we always though it was in the manufacture of the casing...? lot of us carried AK47.. ! but what we liked more was a 30 cal carbine .. WWII style.. ! In most fire fights you were up close and personnel.. ! so long range never bothered us.. but a 2 power scope on a carbine was could reach out a few click's.. ! The BAR (brush cutter) was another weapon we liked.. ! but they were hard to come by... most people who had them wouldn't give them up.. !
McNamara was a sorry pcs of snap that got a lot of people killed.. ! He thought he was smarter that the average bear.. ! therefore he could tell all military people to just shut up and go along with the program.. ? he was bad news..?

Thanks for the instruction.. ! packed one.. ! but never got into the differences.. ! we liked the AK47 because if someone saw a shadow they couldn't tell who you were.. ? caused some tense moments .. ! but we like the Russian.. ! most parts were machined.. ! the ones you find now a lot of the parts are stamped.. ?

Well what hit home to me as a engineer was when they redesigned the C4 and started making all the different colors.. ! like it made a dam if we used red or green.. !
If your company comander would let you we packed all kinds of weapons.. ! some were ordering deer rifles with scopes.. ! I like the AK47 for close work but also like the shotguns with the shreader rounds.. ! made a hell of a bang .. ! get someone in the foot and make a hell of a mess... !
have a SKS and use it for hog hunting.. has a little 2X scope.. ! the rounds creates dust in the air if you fire fast...?
