Last nite after the storms cleared out, we heard geese flying over the house. They sounded like Snows & Blues (having been a waterfowl guide who knows their sound). Friends in nor'Texas sez Lesser Canadians (aka Prairie Geese in these parts) and some specks (Whitefronts) have made it into the Panhandle.
Has anybody seen any geese yet? Where?
Geese arrival in Texas is celebrated like the autumn turning of leaves in the North. The certain sign that winter is coming. Thanksgiving is around the corner.

We have rice fields that were just cut this week all around the house just outside of East Bernard and the geese were packing in yesterday by the thousands. Our poor year old lab was totally confused, he's never seen so many birds at one time!
