Long story short I have an old ammunition can I use for a geocache location that seems to be sweating on the inside because of the temperatures. Any idea as to why this may be occurring and how to stop it? The can sits in a grove of trees in the shade all day on the ground. I even found a spare can from the same lot I have in my house that was sweating inside. The gasket seal on the top is fine so where is the moisture coming from?

tyvm....
i thought of the cat litter because i was babysitting the grand-cat and was po'd at the cat. it refuses to use the litter box when she's down here visiting.
what do ya think about spraying a mixture of vinegar/water on the carpeted area where she craps? do you think that would kill the smell and make her use the box?
(sorry for the hijack)

lol, no problem yippie. We'll be looking for some of the desiccant stuff this week before going out. I checked several other sites (gun related) and they had similar problems and found the similar solution with the stuff. Thnks for the help guys. I was certain either dirty or ogeezer would have the answer.

Yippee.. the vinegar might work.. I keep a plastic squirt bottle full of water just to spray the cat when I want her to quit what she's doing or get down off of whatever she's on.. You might do the same with a mix of vinegar and water and spray visiting cat's unauthorized poo places.. I kept my computer and appliance wiring sprayed down with that, it worked. they don't like ammonia either.. and not to crazy about Vodka..

back to sweaty boxes.. found this under Maxwell House Coffee: Prevent dampness in closets. Fill an empty Maxwell House Coffee can with Kingsford Charcoal Briquets, punch holes in the plastic cover, and set on the floor in the back of the closet.www.wackyuses.com/uses.html
