This 76-pound yellow cat was caught by Chelsea (age 15), Stephanie (age 15) and Leah (age 17) - 3/10/07 on a trotline in Navarro Mills Lake. The cat should be eligible for the lake record, youth record and may qualify for International Game Fish Association records.

Dana Fowlks lands a nice Jack Crevalle fishing out of Port O'Conner. Unprepared redfish and trout anglers along the Texas coast often run in to these line stripping beast while fishing inshore waters. Keeping a rod or two set up with an Ambassador 6500 and 15-pound test will usually give you the line capacity to land a Jack Crevalle.

Yep -- its in the same class as Mackerel and Tuna and Kingfish (typically caught off reefs out from Freeport, Tx) -- until you eaten fresh catch tuna, you haven't taste tuna (that stuff they put in can is tuna but then it doesn't taste the same, thanks to all the industrial processing & additives/oils added during mfg)

Couldn't resist the previous post ... LOL Now, for a real Catch of the Day: Jerry Moser from Birome, Texas caught this 30.3 pound yellow catfish on cut shad fishing below the Navarro Mills Lake dam in the spillway basin. He also caught two other catfish that weighed 19.82 and 6.77 pounds. That's a nice yeller-cat, makes me want to put out some lines on the Colorado...

Very cute, Mr. Boston. You proved what I've always suspected, not only are the fish larger in Kennedy-Kerry land than in Maine, they've got bigger mouths too, but one thing concerns me, shouldn't the stripes go around the body instead of running lengthwise?
