I was wondering?
Does your husband or boyfriend help with the household chores? Do some of the grocery shopping? Cook and clean? Is he the sole breadwinner of the home? Or does his tasks as hunter-gatherer end when he steps thru the door? When you're sick, away attending an ill relative, or something else, does he do the necessary to keep your abode tidy or do you dread returning home to a shambles?
Being retired military (30+ yrs) with a Colonel's pension, drawing a partial Tx prison retirement annuity, receiving patent royalities, and dabbling in the livestock raiser-seller market, I still bring in a sizable chunk of money into the household, enuff to support 2 kids in college plus other responsibilities BUT I also do my share around our humble home, while the wife (who really doesn't have to work) toils at her banking profession.
Living out in the middle of nowhere, in a rural setting, when not pecking on the keyboard for WC Unleashed posts, I still have time to do my share of the cleaning chores, making bed (the army tite-corner way; able to bounce a coin off it), sweeping, mopping, ironing, and most of the cooking, BESIDES outdoor farmstead chores associated with the poultry/livestock, egg gathering, working/harvesting the veggie garden, AND even tinkering in my workshop on a myriad of projects, EXCEPT for one task -- I don't do windows!
Mind you, there's only 2 of us now, cept when the younger kids come home from college or the older ones (from my first marriage) with their spouses & kids come visiting.
But still, I wonder. Am I the exception to the rule OR does he (your partner) help you get the job done??
