It all sounded so good on the phone - the update of my ATT system (internet and home phone) that I bought into it - hook, line & sinker! They took advantage of an old man and his desire to get more for his buck. I thought I asked the right questions but evidently not. I was told my phone and internet bill would be $66.00 a month. After the installation, they sent me a bill for $171.00 (my monthly charge) My old bill for service was only $79.00.
Then came my first sit-down with the computer. I never saw so many popups on my screen. I had to close 15 popups to get to my email. Not just once but every time I went for my email. I work a lot on ebay and that was even worse. There were 18 popups for everything about net security, better adobe player, and much more. I am at my wits end. Yes - I did call to discuss this situation and........
I can discontinue service with ATT but only after I pay this bill and April's bill as well. Turning me into the credit bureau is one threat and then they tell me that my Direct TV account is also part of ATT now and could be discontinued if I don't take care of the full bill.
They are so nice on the phone - "we're sorry sir that you aren't satisfied but the is the company policy and not negotiable." I can shoot my computer but that won't help. Are there any other quality servers that I can go to?
Just now while typing this post, I had to close 5 popups that just interrupted me. Asking if I wanted to stay with Yahoo, accept this offer to insure security, and a couple more. I will quit before some popup attacks me. HELP!
