Amanda Knox has been found guilty in the murder of Meredith Kirschner by an Italian court. She could be extradited to serve her sentence in Italy but will the US send her back?
I say they should. In fact she needs to be locked up until she can be sent back to Italy. She is a convicted murderer who is not being punished for her crime. Her boyfriend is now in prison so why shouldn't she? We would want a foreigner to be jailed for a murder in the states so why the double standard? A convicted murderer is the same in any country. We should put Amanda in jail until the case in Italy has run it's course - through their Supreme Court.

I have not been following this case and when I read a couple of news clips about it I became even more confused. She was found guilty, then not guilty then guilty. Geez, I give up trying to figure it out.

Amanda Knox was convicted in one trial and then found innocent on appeal. To try her again would be Double Jeapardy in the United States. If Italy tries her again the United Stated could not recognize that verdict and would be under no obligation to extradite her.

It would be a shame if we didn't follow the law and let Italy extradite Knox. We even have a treaty with them regarding extraditions. We want our president to follow the laws so for us to ignore Italy's extradition requests would be acting like our President - he says he can make the laws with just his signature and not use congress at all.
