Good idea, ogeezer, but if I could add something to this? If she's the suspicious type who checks credit card receipts, she'll know you didn't buy it until after the anniversary or birthday or whatever date it was. Then your story's sunk like a cheap Russian sub. Tell her you paid cash so she wouldn't know how much you spent on her because nothing's too good for her. Or if you do the bills and she doesn't see the credit card statements, you're good to go.

Dr. Phil says that you forgetting the anniversary has a deeper meaning. YOUR OLD !!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-) sheesh - the wife should lighten up - i forget ours every year.

been there done that.. ! because my wife is a florist.. just can't drag home some flowers.. ? its always a scramble to figure out something..
