Before I begin in this topic - question - Did EC ever recover the money spent on the bio-fuel fiasco of a couple of years ago where EC put up money and the planner disappeared?
Well folks, here comes another money grabber. This housing project is so complex that it led the mayor to state..."We need to pass this project so we can see how it plays out". Our mayor has been reading Nancy Pelosi's book.
The planner says it's not a "project" but when you determine rent based on family income and expect the government to make up the difference to management - that sounds like a project. We all know just what a "project" looks like after a couple of years. They even went so far as to state that they would make the rent lower for a policeman to live in the housing ..... . Why? Do they suspect problems? Doesn't sound good to me.
We don't know the full cost for EC taxpayers will be but we know that there already some insider problems lurking. I will not make any absolute distinctions but only an idiot can't recognize them.
EC council seemed to ignore the 70+ petitioners against the project and didn't insist on local contractors for the work. Friends of the planner no doubt will profit from that decision.
I will not call this project Subsidized Housing but rather Socialized Housing to placate my liberal friends.
The city has too many plans for our hard earned money. First the Little League ballfields, then the hwy 59 bypass roads, fixing the Prasek turnaround (why is this the responsibility of EC?) raising hwy 59 over FM 1162 (don't understand the need for this one at all) and last but needed most - fixing the bad streets in EC.
Our leaders are reading Obama too much. Spending all this money in hopes that our kids and grandkids can afford to pay the taxes needed in the future.
There - I/ve vented!
