I've got some plexiglass that has turned cloudy. Any idea how to restore it?

I'd call around. Wally World, Auto Stores, or Aircraft Suppliers.

i went over to Lowe's and they recommended getting plain old car wax - like turtle wax - and using it. when it drys up outside, i'm going to give it a whirl.

Failure! Didn't work. I applied turtle wax, let it dry and rubbed/buffed it by hand. No change.
Any other ideas?

let me try this one more time..! the film is oxidation.. ! the same film you get when a head light gets clowdy.. ! there are two or three different brands on the market to clear it up.. ! if its bad you may need to sand and polish.. ! if not just the polish that kills the oxidation.. ! read the product on the shelves at the auto supply store.. !
