3 c. flour 2 t. cream of tartar 1 t. baking powder 1 t. baking soda 1 t. sea salt regular will work 2 1 stick of softened butter 1 c. sharp cheddar cheese 2 lg. eggs 1 c. sour cream 1/2 c. milk 1/2 c. grated parmesan cheese for topping use the real stuff it's much better
Use a medium-size mixing bowl to combine the flour, cream of tartar, baking powder, soda, and salt. stir all together. Cut in the butter just as you would for pie crust.
Stir in the cheddar cheese. Then add the beaten eggs and the sour cream in that order. Mix everything together. Add the milk and stir until everything is thoroughly combined.
Drop the biscuits by soup spoonfuls onto an ungreased baking sheet, 12 lg. biscuits to a sheet. Once the biscuits are on the baking sheet, you can wet your hands and shape them if you like. I leave mine slightly irregular so everyone knows they are homemade.
Sprinkle shredded parmesan cheese on top of each biscuit.
Bake at 425 for 12 to 14 mins.
They are OMG Good!!!!!!!!

that biscuits deserves the most exotic of exotic jellies and jams... like all sorts of homemade preserves and hot pepper jellies ... (mixed).. sausage patties and links.. the mind reals... what did you'all put on (in) them humbug? Guava Jelly? Jalapeno Jelly? Passion Fruit Jelly? Something with Papaya or Mango in it?
Wine or Champagne Jelly does go with that biscuit.. last time I had both, had them with a similar cheese biscuit.. cheese.. that was over 30 years ago..

I actually got it from a book I'm reading. The author has a series of murder books that have recipes in the books. The one I'm reading now is called Plum Pudding Murder. She has really good recipes in the books.
