Went to see this during the holidays. I loved it.
Went to see the Chipmunks and Sherlock Holmes too. I thought they were all good. With the Chipmunk movie...I'm not sure which was funniest...the movie or watching all our kids and grandkids in the row in front of us...lol

I guess they felt leftout of the future world with only white people and blue people in the movie. But they didn't intermarry. Now that is racist. But the blue people were about 8 foot tall and athletic. The white people had guns and choppers.

I finally watched it last night. I intentionally tried to avoid reviews, opinions, etc., so I could watch it without having my brain washed about how great it was. I knew very little about it, but I didnt go in completely cold, but definitely lukewarm. I just didnt know a lot about it.
After the 1st 15 minutes I almost turned it off. All too predictable........ Corporations/Capitalism = EVIL Military = EVIL Indigenous People who are one with the land = GOOD
And another thing..... I have nothing against foul language in a movie, alot of times I encourage it. In my opinion the only reason there was any cussing in this movie was to make a 13 yr. old chuckle, or to make him/her go YEAH!YEAH!YEAH!
I kept watching.......totally irritated going into the last hour. The visuals were the only thing making it tolerable. Waited for the predictable final confrontation. Waited for the predictable love interest to resolve. Predictablity can work, if you care about the characters. I felt nothing.
I'll give it 1 star, just because the movie looked great. The rest of it was crap.

It's one of the shows on HBO's free weekend on DirecTv this weekend. I hate the way these movies have been written the last 20 years or so... like you said ...evil Corporations, evil U.S, Politicians (sort of true), evil C.I.A., evil Americans, evil Christians, evil White People, evil meat eaters, evil alcohol drinkers, evil Southerners... Good Socialists, good Greenies, good vegans, good dope users, good unwed mothers, good any color skin but White, good people with foreign accents, good Muslims, even better atheists.. puke ... puke... puke..
