I got it but its not as bad as my brothers or my dads..My dad when he was alive took Gold shots...do not know if they still do that. He had 3 forms of arthritis...Mine mostly flares up with weather changes my knee kills me or my hip locks up..but the most noticed sign is swollen fingers..I hate it!

I have it too, especially in my hands. I already have on my right hand the first joint of my pinkie finger deformed. I sometimes want to get a hammer and break the joint just to straighten it out...lol! It just aggravates me to look at it.

I have been having hand pain for awhile now and finally went to the Doctor. She told me that I have osteoarthritis. Now I am am taking Celebrex. I just hope it doesn't have bad side effects.

I have it, too, as well as lupus (SLE). Both of my parents and all of my grandparents and who knows who else before them had it. My mama has the type that puts the lumps in your knuckles...a couple of mine have started having those knots, too. My daddy's arthritis curled his back over...took him from 6 feet tall to maybe 5.5 feet because he can't uncurl. They both suffer so much with it. I hurt, sure, but nothing like my parents do.

I have osteoarthritis in my hands and knees... AVN in my knees and ankles which is killing the bones in my legs...mostly in the ankles. Lately I been getting tremors which my hands will start shaking or sometimes my legs...going to the doctor to see about that today... told my wife If I was a dog we'd have put me down already but she keeps saying she'll keep me around a little while longer.

It is good to hear that she'll keep you around a while longer. My hands get twitchy and my legs shaky, too. I think for me right now, though, it has to do with the anemia. I hope it isn't something further. Please let us know what the doc says about why you are shaking. I hope that you will be ok. What is "AVN"?

Thanks for sharing that link. I am so sorry that you have to deal with that. It sounds just awful. Were they able to determine why you're getting shaky? I hope they are able to figure it out and make it stop.

I don't have RA but I do have arthritis...doctor told my mom she had it though. That and osteoarthritis runs in my grandma's side of the family. The only thing that bothers me is my knees and my hands when its cold. I do have carpel tunnel and that hurts and wakes me up at night when I use my hands alot. I have been in the yard the past couple of days and my hands hurt and are swollen. I have to wear braces to keep my wrists straight because my hands go to sleep and get numb when they are bent. If you see a crazy blonde driving around town with arm braces, that's me!!
They just don't make bodies like they used too....:-) I'm saying prayers for you all, I hope we can all find something to make life better...we are too young to feel this d*mn old!!
Reddog and Celtic, I hope you find the answers you seek and soon!!

Thanks, Blue. I am sorry that you have to deal with carpal tunnel issues. I've heard lots of folks talk about how painful that is. Do the braces interfere with your driving at all, or make it lots easier? I hope they are helping. My hands aren't having any trouble with me driving, but my shoulders are starting to rebel something awful. At the point that I stopped working, I couldn't even lift a 6 pack over my head to load the cooler with any certainty that I wasn't going to drop it on my face. I don't know if the problem is the actual shoulder itself, or if the weakness was solely from the anemia. It could be a combination, I suppose. I agree that they don't make bodies like they use to. It seems the more "progress" we have, the less healthy we all are. I have another thread where I've posted about it, but I am investigating a healthier lifestyle. I've heard lots of good things about it. I just hope that I don't end up being a notch baby in that, too. You know, something that helps the rest of the planet, and I'm the only one that it doesn't help. That is my luck usually. haha You're in my prayers for healing, too. Thanks for yours!
