Thats sad....I always thought as long as it would rain...it would replenish our water sources ...through the ground......Get this bad drought and we are seeing the effects everywhere....Lake Texana is scarey....I hope the sale of water to Corpus is at a great price....and how much does Foremosa pay for all the water they SUCK out?

The lake was put in place years ago for farm irrigation. The recreation groups at one time tried to stop the use of it's water for farm purposes but the court ruled that the whole reason for the lake was to store water for the farmers. I have seen it low before but not this low. Next summer it will be full again with some rain as the area is so rocky the rain runs off and doesn't soak in. The flash floods in that area a few years back was right after a summer of low lake water.
The lake is just out of San Antonio and gets lots of use from that city-----like Lake Conroe gets from the Houston people.
