Initially, the monitor would light up as soon as the mouse was touched....but now it's taking longer and longer to do so. This time, it took over a minute. Any ideas what could be causing the problem???

I experience the same problem... even do the three click... CTRL+ALT+DEL and bring up the WINDOWS TASK MANAGER and check out the CPU usage down at the bottom.. most of the time it waaay low.. just to make sure, I click on "Processes" tab next after "Applications" tab at the top, then I click on the "CPU" header below that... that'll give you the Percentage of CPU usage... if you get a "Image Name" you don't recognise, Google it.... but mine is just showing "System Idle Process"... so I'm thinking it's my ISP which is AT&T....
(Note: each time you click on a column header, it reverses the sequence just like in eMail)

Thanks for your response DD. I read a tip on "troubleshooting" and it said to go to "control panel" and click on "power options". I changed my time for the monitor to turn off, to "never"....Will see how that works. Hopefully that solves the prbm. .

I'm still thinking my problem is with AT&T... it happens almost all the times at the peak periods.. 7-8 am, noon, 3 & 5 pm...
