My doctor knows I'm cheap. He perscribed lorsipam which costs $10 for a 30 pill perscription. I take 1/2 pill on the nights when my brain refuses to shut down. He usually writes me a 3 month perscription that lasts me for over 6 months.
Normal anxiety is a tool our body uses to keep us aware of external issues. I think the anxiety I have is probably in the medium range and I deal with it by ignoring it if there's nothing I can to to affect the external issue causing it.

I'm heading in for a stress test with the nuclear junk. I'm wound so tight right now I'm probably driving the wife nuts. She said she's 99.9% sure I don't have any heart problems. The doctor, a heart guy, said it could go either way but not likely. It's just to rule anything out. Because of it though I'm stressed out like nuts. Then I read the damned brochure about how they actually do the test. Stupid me I thought it was a hop on the treadmill and they pop on a few wires. Hell no, they pipe me (hate needles), drip me with some radioactive junk (ohh joy), scan me for 15 minutes of which I'm not allowed to move (yea right), then run me till God knows when, then repeat the scan junk.
I hate doctors. I hate needles. I hate tests that require both. The alternative test sounds worse. It's going to be hell waiting for this whole thing to happen, then I have to wait another week for results provided nothing shows while I'm on the machine. this crap scares me more than when I had a spot checked for skin cancer a few years back.
The kicker, the Doc said to get a biofeedback type of hobby to take my mind of what causes the anxiety. Said he does something with trying to design a danged train. Great for him but I think mechanical. It'd take me ten minutes in my head. We did get the Mindflex game. Fun machine that is. Think about work (stress state) I dang near burn the fan up. Think about staying home and it turns off (relaxed state).

Trust me Sílený , it's worse in your dread and imagination than it actually is.. I've had them all, including the EMG, where they stick needles under your skin and send in electricity sorta like the famous Dr. Victor Frankenstein used to jump start his experiments back to life (.. and not a single nurse or aide had a hunchback or a gimp leg to drag.... which was comforting).. wish you luck, be brave and fear nothing..

When I get stressed-out, I take the "hard stuff"................M&M's
The brown ones for every day problems, and the blue or red ones for severe stress.
No Joke, I kid you not....

LOL, the upside is I can take the xanex before the test. I may have to dope myself good before hand. Another good thing is I'm not scheduled to work the day before so that will help some as well. the one question I always wonder though. If they do label me bipolar after all is said and done will I still be able to buy a few guns. lol

When I took the scan test everything was fine both before and after the treadmill deal. According to the results were 'normal flow'. However, because of the treadmill test I'm listed as borderline normal because there was something that the doctor couldn't figure out. The beginning of the running thing was normal. During the end though there was a spot the machine registered what it thought was a problem that said my heart wasn't getting quite enough oxygen. I think I know what it was though. When I run I don't breath right worth a crap and tend to hold my breath instead of breathing normally. The nuke scan showed normal flow so that would be the only possible explanation.
Blood pressure was normal and all that as well. Only thing is, and we have to get Achmed the Terrorist doctor to understand, I was on two and a half scheduled doses of xanex before that test. That tells me for sure my arse needs to be on something daily instead of the PRN crap. Our guess is when I see him in a week or so for the follow up he's going to toss me on an aspirin a day, exercise I disagree off, watch the diet junk. The stress crap will have to be cut back too. The boss isn't going to like that but she'll have to deal with it. I'm at the point with that place I could honestly give a crap anymore. If she wants her websites and junk maintained she'll have to keep the nut farmer happy. lol
Just thought I'd let you know what's going on.

Saw the family doc yesterday and got myself on a daily med now. The last batch of blood pressure checks were well within normal ranges including after working out today. Seems that being high was stress related as well. I talked to the boss and hopefully got my schedule cut I can drop some of the stress. I'm also working on a schedule to get everything in line instead of flying by the seat of my pants. Should relieve some more as well. My goal is to get off this junk and only use it as needed.
I almost told the doc yesterday to **in Achmed the dead terrorist voice** STOP TOUCHING ME!!!! but I didn't think he'd get the joke. lol
