What's your best bean recipe? Do you soak your beans or just throw them in?

Soak them overnight, then plug in the crockpot early in the morning. Tiny tiny bubble simmer real slow for about 4 or so hours, then add salt, chili powder, cumin, fresh garlic, onion, veggie oil or bacon or ham or lard... jalapeno or other peppers are good too. Sometimes I grill the onions and garlic and peppers in the oil and pour it all in and cook a few more hours... you can tell it's ready by the smell... sometimes I add worchestershire sauce and brown sugar just for the heck of it...

I like all beans but my favorite would have to be navy beans. I do soak them overnight and then cook them with salt, pepper, lots of onion and garlic, and a ham hock or bacon.

Navy or Great Northern's are super good with ham. I like to spike the regular spices with 5 cloves of clove, 5 alspice cloves, and 5 peppercorns and a bay leaf.. garlic sometimes..

Pinto beans - 1 lb dry beans Check for rocks, rinse, put in crock pot on high for one hour with enough water to cover plus about an inch.
Dump in colander and rinse. put back in crock with a can of rotel, salt, pepper, and chili powder. Cook overnight on low - about 10 hours. In the morning add 1 pound cooked ground beef that's been seasoned with salt, pepper, and chili powder. Taste and add spices as needed. Cook on high until tender - they'll be ready for lunch.
If you cook on high over night you can dump in the meat and simmer on low until serve.
