Anyone else suffer from gastroesophageal reflux disease or acid reflux? I've had this off and on for a couple of years now and seem to get over it fairly well. I've been having another bout for a week now. I've taken everything from Tums to Pepcid...even tried Activia. Nothing seems to be helping! I had a prescription for Nexium...the purple pill...but it ran out. I'm thinking of calling the doctor today to see if I can get it refilled again!! I need some relief...

I suffer from that. It's painful and miserable. Can't afford the Nexium. Too expensive. Tried the HEB brand acid reducer. It's so/so. Hey, do you have to drink the apple cider vinegar straight? Wonder if the apple cider vinegar tablets would help??? Thanks for the tips.

I've also heard that apple cider is a great pick me up, like coffee. Is this true?
Also, if you mix a teaspoon of baking soda in a half glass of water, mix it until clear and drink it then that also relives the heart burn. Well it works for me when I'm out of Pepcid or whatever...

Wonder if the apple cider vinegar tablets would help??? Thanks for the tips. I mixed 1 or 2 tablespoons of the vinegar with water. I had bought some fresh honey recently so after I drank the water...ugh...I took a teaspoon of the honey... ...just to get rid of the vinegar taste...lol!

I thought wmdm was going to say something like to have sex twice a day, and you won't give a sheite from shinola about the GERD.
I had it pretty bad, but about 3 months on the little purple pill seemed to do the job.

hmm, the fizz in the sparkling apple cider might get you to belch...which is always a relief. I've never had the sparkling...you could give it a try!

earlier diagnosis had me down for GERD, but after some deep gullet probe's (endoscopy) and serious XRay's with a tasty chalky beverage (I had cherry)... the Dr's found I had this en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zenker's_diverticulum the illustration in the wikipedia entry looks exactly like mine.. Eating was easy, it was swallowing and getting it to stay down that was the hard part... we'll fix it and I can dine in public again.. Gotta love High Tech, The Staff of the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center , and God.. thanks all!
