Hey Renegade,
Been on that ferry numerous times. No worry mate, as they would say down under. They are expert at loading the ferry for weight and balance, so that they ride level across the water.
The times that I have been on it, I've never seen an 18 wheeler loaded when I'm there on the ferry. They may even have a separate run for those loads.
My advice to you....................
Go for it!

The love of my life and I crossed it with our motorcycle during our anniversary get away with no problems... It only take about 5 minutes to cross.

Been across the ferry numberous times...feel very safe doing it. We have always stayed at Port Royale...they have awesome swimming pools with a few hot tubs and a private access to the beach.

oh i guess i didn't mention i was in a one ton ford pulling a 39ft bumper pull Ferry regs per Texas D.O.T. from their website. "The maximum length for combined vehicles (such as a car and boat) is 65 feet, the maximum width allowed is 120 inches, the maximum height is 13 feet 6 inches and the maximum gross weight is 80,000 pounds." I was "born and raised" in Port. (Actually born in Rockport) Left the Island in 1970 when I joined The Marines. back then they only had the 9 car ferrys. I can not remember ever seeing a semi on those ferrys. I even had an uncle that was a ferry pilot until he died in 1982. I only go back to visit family and relatives anymore. It has become way to commercial for me. My uncles and a brother were guides, last uncle just retired at 82 with kidney problems. Older brother has been cleaning fish (Fishermans Wharf) for the last 40 years. I still have fond recollections of growing up there but its appeal to me has long ago faded.
