Wow! I don't check this forum often, but it's quiet around here tonight so here I am. I've done WW online, but truly don't have time in my world for meetings. My daughter lost her baby weight plus some with WW and going to meetings. She found two friends there that have helped her a lot too. So ... maybe trying the online version again would be helpful....
GREAT JOB!!!

Thanks! I am totally sold on Weight Watchers. I have lost weight and regained it because I didn't know what I did to lose it. I've lost weight on Atkins and regained it. I tried the online version of WW, but it was too easy for me to cheat! I lost nothing while doing it that wayl. I finally started going to meetings in June and it has made a world of difference. I love going to the meetings and making new friends, our group leader is awesome. In addition to getting support, I have many new recipes and methods of coping with things like the holiday situations. I don't know how I'll do this week, but even if I gain, they make it easy to begin again. And there's no "special" food that you have to buy....my goal is about 30 pounds away, so I'm hoping to make it by June. For anyone considering weight loss, I would highly recommend WW.

I signed up online - looked at meetings in the area, but found none that I can make. Wish me luck! You're rignt about the cheating - there's really no one to be accountable to, but ... what is is what is!
30 goals is very doable considering where you started. Great job!

Thanks, srv child! I think I'll pass on the picture! Honestly, I don't think I even have any pictures of me at my fattest. I went a little backwards over the two week holiday period...but it's still not that bad. I just gained 1.2 pounds. That included Christmas, New Years and several parties in between. I'm hoping that I'm back on track now! Louise, check out the taco soup recipe...I think I posted it on a favorite cold weather food posting on this forum. If you can't find it, let me know and I'll send it to you. It's been a staple for me to take to work. One cup is only about 3 points and it's very filling. You can also google weight watchers taco soup recipe and get some variations on it. Mine is very "tomato-y" so if you aren't a tomato fan, you'll probably like one of the others a little better. Good luck!

Haven't posted in a while. Things got crazy and I'm going into a very stressful two month period which, of course, follows that holiday period...soooo...I've spent 6 weeks trying to get rid of 2 pounds for my next goal and I FINALLY made it! Today's weigh in showed a 51 pound loss! Yay!I knew the program would work for me if I just didn't give up!

are you a member online? what does it cost...i think i saw 17/month somewhere.... im starting to seriously consider WW, but im not a meeting type of person and don't have time to attend meetings, however, if there is something to read online and go by that then i may just do it!

I was an online member for about a year before I started going to meetings. But I wasn't successful because I had no accountability. I really needed that. They do have a great website and I think when you sign up for the online program, you still get their e-tools which has tons of helpful information. I don't know what the fee for that is, but you can go to weightwatchers.com and you should be able to find it. I think I paid for 3 months in advance, but I honestly can't remember. I really do enjoy the meetings, but I think the real key to that is that we have an awesome leader! I have learned so much by going to the meetings. Sometimes its a recipe, sometimes its hint about what type of product to buy for the least number of points, but we always have fun. I really didn't think I was a meeting person either, but I hate to miss my meetings now! Plus, I have the accountability of stepping on the scale and having someone else see it. And, I have to admit, I love being recognized for successful weight loss! We get a bookmark at our second meeting and for every 5 pounds we lose, we get a star to put on it. We also get other awards. I have a monthly pass which also gives me the e-tools and I think it's about 39.00 per month. You could definitely do it online. I would recommend buying two of their books--one is the complete food companion. It lists points values by food (ground beef, pork, green beans, etc) but it also lists points values by brand (Campbells, Bush, etc.) The second book is the Dining Out Companion. It has points values of foods served at restaurants (Golden Corral, Cici's Pizza, Sonic, Wendy's etc.) Good luck! It's a great program!

I just keep on postin! I went 5 weeks without going to a meeting...a very stressful time at work. I left for work while it was dark and got home after dark...FINALLY I could make it to a meeting...and it was a no gain/no loss....I was exactly where I left off 5 weeks ago...I consider that a success. This week was spring break...I had .2 gain...again...I consider that a success. My next two weeks are going to be hectic with judging and contest management assignments from Liberty to Brownsville to Austin and back. Wish me luck!!!

Here I go again! OK...not so good this time...I haven't been to a meeting in about three weeks and I've been traveling with work...McAllen to Corpus Christi to East Texas...so now I've been SITTING and eating all the wrong things...instead of running my legs off AND eating all the wrong things! It was a 1.6 pound gain...all told, I'm excited that it wasn't more than that. I'm even more motivated now..we got word that we have received a grant to attend a workshop in Florence, Italy for 5 days in July!!! I need to get in shape...lots of walking when we get there..and I need some new clothes!!!

Thanks, DirtyDon! It's been a LONG several months of going up and down, but I'm determined to stick to the plan for the long run and reach my goal. The cool thing is that if I'm not successful, I pretty much know what I did wrong and how to fix it. That's pretty empowering to me! Again, thanks for the "yay for you!"

We just got back from our trip to Paris, Italy, and Amsterdam. We spent three weeks eating our way through those countries...pasta, pizza, gelato, pastries, more pasta, more gelato, more pastries, bread, wine, more gelato, more pasta ;D...etc! I went to my WW meeting the Saturday before we left and went back yesterday and actually LOST 3 pounds!!!! This puts my total weight loss at 60.2 pounds!!! The key was walking because I certainly didn't count points!. We probably walked 12-14 hours each day and that included lots of stairs and steep hills. We enjoy seeing the cities that way rather than taking a bus or other transportation. Now I'll probably gain 5 pounds this week because I won't be exercising as much even though I plan to return to the gym tomorrow! But then again, I won't be eating lots of pasta, gelato, pastries, etc.
