Dr. Fink was my dr. Need to find a new one for yearly check-ups (no more kids). Any recommendations on the new women at So. Tx. Clinic in Wharton? Or, any recommendations elsewhere?

If you don't mind driving then Dr. Neisner, in Columbus, is AMAZING! He comforts you as he enters, hugs you, shakes your hand and is very caring. You are not a number in his eyes!! Love him and is worth the drive!

well, I put it off so long, I had to call to make an appointment because my prescriptions were about out. I have an appointment with Dr. Morris (she has had an ad in the newspaper, new to STxMC) because I needed to get in so quick. I'll give her a try and let you guys know what I think.

well, I had my appointment with Dr. Morris. I really liked her. I would say she is probably mid 50's, very down to earth, and really listened to me. I don't really have any health problems and she took care of all the prescriptions that Dr. Fink use to take care of for me, thyroid and allergy. I hear some of the Dr.s are hesitant to write scrips for those type things, wanting you instead to see a primary care physician. Only thing different is that I had to go back the next a.m. for blood work after fasting. Dr. Fink always just ordered blood work right after appointment. I know test results after fasting are more accurate, so this wasn't a problem for me. Also, I have to go back to see her in 3 weeks to discuss the results. Thinking is that maybe my thyroid replacement needs adjusting. Dr. Fink always just called to change my scrip if needed. She did say she had her own practice before coming here, so I attributed requiring me to come back in to that. She was a bit "rougher" in the exam and doesn't do as complete of an exam as Dr. Fink did, but all in all I liked her. Sorry if that last part is too graphic for some, but you might want to know that before you go to her.

srv child - few questions.... does he do a "complete" exam? I normally only go the the dr. once a year for my well woman check up so I appreciated the fact that Dr. Fink checked you out from top to bottom. Also, can you have your mammogram done there? Will he write refills for prescriptions that you have been on for years? Does he do blood work tests?
Next year I may have to check into him and see if he accepts my insurance. Dr. Morris was ok, but I just feel like I was there for my female organs only and the rest wasn't a concern. I guess I understand that since that is her line of specialization, but got spoiled by Dr. Fink I guess....

Yes, he does complete well woman checks. 979-732-2318 is their office number. All I can say is if you do make an appointment with him call and let them know that you want a full well woman check and blood work. They are kind and answer all your questions, you just need to let them know what exactly you want done so he can work it all in. Not sure if they do mammograms there, probably do it at the Columbus hospital. Call a couple weeks before you want to schedule your appointment. He has alot of patients and they will work you in Hope you find a doctor you're happy with. I absolutely had changing doctors, it's like starting a whole new relationship! lol
