Hey y'all
I'm working on coding a page in CSS presently. I've got a question regarding the hyperlinks in CSS coding. I know how to adjust the color in them so that they are visible but there is another problem. Here is the code I have for now in my CSS for the basic links...
A:link { color: #FFFFFF; text-decoration: none; font-family: Verdana; font-size: 13px; font-weight: bold; }
A:visited { color: #660000; text-decoration: none; }
A:active { color: #660000; text-decoration: none; }
A:hover { color: #660000; text-decoration: underline; }
The question is can I have other link css code for other parts of the page. As in a A:linkmain or something similar where I can apply a different link style to a link so that it would be visible on a different colored background? At the moment I am using white on a green background but I also need to use black on a tan background to make it visible. However, I've looked high and low for a tutorial and have come up dry. Any help out there to be found?

After some extensive digging in three manuals and about 20 websites I think I figured it out.
/* classed link styles, appropriate for navigation area */ a.nav {color: white; text-decoration: none;} a.nav:link {color: white;} a.nav:visited {color: yellow;} a.nav:hover {color: orange;} a.nav:active {color: fuschia;}
