One of the few films I actually went to see at the big screen in the past few months. I think I should get a few things off my chest from the start pertaining to the movie viewing itself. This was our second attempt at trying to see the movie in the past few days. The first attempt was scratched because of a line the likes of which I haven't seen in some time to view a movie. As such and the nearing start time we went home. Second, a movie the likes of Ghost Rider, is not one in which to take your four and five year old children. If not for the obvious reasons of the fact of content they just have no reason being there at all for that theme of movie. I suppose I can take solace in the fact it is the mother that brought them in the first place that will most likely be up for the next few weeks worth of nights trying to coax her children back to sleep. Finally, we went to the cheap showing. You'd think otherwise considering two cokes, one popcorn and two movie tickets added up to $20. An people wonder why I'm an advocate of projector's and screens for home viewing.
To the movie. I'd give it a thumbs WAY UP. If you're into lovey dovey plots and movies with meaning this isn't for you. If you like loud, explosive, heart pounding action with a cameo of Sam Elliot this is your flick. Movies like this have me watching the special effects and transitions more so than the actual movie the first time. It certainly has a lot of eye candy in those regards. Nick Cage has the same typical acting style in this as any other's been in. All in all, without giving anything up, I would certainly watch this movie again and most likely buy the dvd.
