I am looking for a place to purchase St. Augustine Grass plugs. Does anyone have a suggestion as to where I can start?

i'm not sure where you can get "plugs" - but regular grass blocks can be purchased at Wittig's Grass Farms - Boling

If you're just filling in a small bare spot in an existing yard, make your own plugs from what's growing over the sidewalk or driveway. A little bigger area - follow a sod truck and wait for a couple of pieces to fall off, or just look for some fairly fresh stuff on the road. Even 3-day-old road kill sod will grow. Whack it up with a machete into 6"x6" pieces. Bigger than that - buy a pallet and just lay the sod. Don't 'checkerboard' it. It's a pain to mow.

...as long as you're careful when picking them up on heavily traveled roads, watch for blocks of the grass along the sides of road - having blown off the back of flatbed truck - is a cheap, inexpensive place to find the stuff while your traveling. Take some old newspaper along to put them on, in the trunk of the car.
