I've been reading the forum for quite a while, having been a member at the "other" site, just never jumped into this one...but Charbel, your pictures made me join just so I can ask you a question!!!
I am looking for advice on buying a camera to be able to get images like yours. Hopefully digital, but something that has a good zoom, and that will take pictures indoors also. Like in the school auditorium and during pep rallies in the gym where the lighting is not as good. Hopefully in the $300 range. Any suggestions from anyone?

Thanks Sage and metoo. Not sure about what kind of camera you should get, I have a Cannon. It's a SLR so I can change lenses and it's digital. I love my camera but it has alot more bells and whistles than I use. I also paid alot for all the bells and whistles.

I think if you want to shoot from the stands or audtorium you need more to spend(changeable lenses) is the key...I have canon powershot digital elph and love it for everything but it will not zoom in to the flag core, band etc....indoors outdoors great just not the zoom you are looking for.

Kodak has some cameras with higher than usual zoom in their point and shoot cameras. The model numbers will begin with Z----such as Z####. I'm not sure of the price tho.

thanks for all the advice - sounds like I am going to have to do some serious comparision shopping and try to figure out which zoom is best along with which features are best for low light conditions.
