Do I recall someone mentioning they used Adobe Photoshop Lightroom? If so, please give some details as to how it operates, ease of function, etc. What other software have any of you used? Also, what type of camera do you have and why did you choose it? Thanks

Software= Photoshop Elements 5. For most people this will do the job and I still have not learned all that it can do. Lightroom I am not familiar with but I know one out there has to do with videos.
Camera= Sony a100 and Kodak Z760
I use the Kodak as a point and shoot and it does a very good job. Small, easy to carry and some presets that cover a lot of shooting situations.
The Sony a100 will take a lot of different lenses and has built in stabilization for those shoot in dark situations. The 18-200 lens is a good all around lens but there are many many lenses out there for this camera. I'm starting to use the Sony as my first choice as it is much more versatile

they are both digital. I have not used a film camera in many many years. All the photos I put on here where shot with a digital camera. The ones that aren't are the old old ones that I scanned then posted. My wife, the old planes and a few others but very very few.

I use Photoshop Elements. It's a great program for your basic user and has just about everything you need. I beta tested Adobe Lightroom and found it to be a great addition to Elements. It has a better organization setup and does basic editing (brightness, contrast, color) better than even the full version of Photoshop.
As for camera's I use all Canon all the time. I like the color and tone as well as the quality of the photo's they take.

So would Lightroom be a step above the photoshop or is it an addition? I was thinking about trying it out. They have a 30 day trial period for Lightroom.

I thought of it more as an addition. All the reviews I also read about it said your average user that just wanted more control over touching up a image would benefit greatly from it. I would say it's geared more towards a photographer type instead of someone that likes to 'photoshop' or do something along the lines of making a ufo and cow photo. I'd recommend downloading and trying it out first. It is a solid program that I like for fixing photo's that I take. Give it a shot. Worst case scenario is you don't like it or it doesn't do everything you're looking for. I use trials for that very reason.
;D
