Just thought I would see what everyone likes to do in their free time besides eat, have sex, complain about not having sex and complain about not getting enough exercise.
But for real folks .. what's your hobby?

whats the difference between a hobby and a recreational pursuit ?
Fishing is one of my recreational pursuits but making castnets is a hobby tho arthirtis is slowing finger dexterity.
Hunting with blackpowder firearms is another recreational pursuit but loading my ammo and sometimes making my own blackpowder from scratch is a hobby. Percussion caps is more of a chore project when ready-mades are unavailable and ATF limitations of chemical components is somewhat taxing.
Nearly 40 years as journeyman woodbutcher has made woodworking less of a hobby due to professional extent of it.
Whether being a recreational pursuit, hobby or leisure task, I'd say being a mouse-potato is my biggest hobby tho finger arithiritis and fanny fatigue does limit duration

Harley motorcycle riding, fishing, camping. Enjoy walking, traveling. Last travel quest was last year to Costa Rica on a fishing trip. Along with several sailfish, maui maui, and some others I landed a 500# marlin. That was the peaked thrill of my fishing ventures. Other than that I enjoy cooking and entertaining for family and friends. Since I have changed my "lifestyle" to a healthier one I have been really learning new ways and things to cook. Was really hard to not fry up some chicken fried steaks, mashed potatoes and good ole homemade milk gravy. But we are surviving...lol. Well the hubby and I are, my 16 year old keeps asking when I am gonna cook some "real" food.....lol.

My hobbies are genealogy research, web surfing, reading, sewing, yarn and needlework, word puzzles, and waiting for grandkids...and my "hobbies to jobbies" <g> are freelance writing and photography, and I'm working on 2 novels...one about an immigrant and one about a serial killer. I'm hoping to go even further with the photography.
For those holding your laptop computers actually on your lap (especially if you're a guy), you may want to rethink that placement. I read some pretty scary things awhile back that can happen to men that use the laptops on their laps.

I actually have a 3rd one in the "thinking" stages...the first page is rough-drafted. It is a sequal to the immigrant story. I'm just having trouble concentrating lately so haven't made much progress on any of them.
Bad images would go right along with the things I read about laptop placement. I wouldn't want anything falling off of anybody that they might need later. The "c" word is a very scary thought. Having watched my grandpa die of cancer, I wouldn't wish that torment on anyone, especially if it could be prevented by using a desk instead of a lap.

I've done the mountain climbing thing before, but never skydiving. My sailor son went skydiving while he was in port in Hawaii and had a blast. I think it looks like a lot of fun, but I think I'd splat before I found the thing that opens the parachute Your sis in Christ, Suz

Like celticmama, I too am a genealogical "addict". I have had the "habit" for about 5 years now and I think it is terminal. Before that I was into Archery, radio control helicopters, and I dabbled in photography a bit.

Not crazy at all... here's an artist's rendition of a typical Europian Moon Creature. Not EVEN going to tell you what his frozen snowballs are made of..
