Has anyone noticed that Warpspeed1 (cable internet offered through Mid Coast Cable Company) has been running slow lately? Just wondering if it's on my end...

Cable internet has it's drawbacks. From my understanding it's a node based system. The more people hooked up to the node the slower it gets because the usable signal is divided among the users. Thus the more users the less speed you get. I could be wrong but that was my understanding of it.
For the forums here it's a matter of the servers. The servers that host the forum also host other forums as well on the particular server we are located. If they are unusually busy it slows all of us down in the forum. I've only seen it happen a few times where it gets so busy that it actually suspends the server we are hosted on until the traffic slows down. It's one of the drawbacks to a free hosted forum. I do have a backup already set up should it ever go kaplooey though. In that event I use my most up to date forum registration list and notify everyone of the new location.
For the record I use DSL and speed is constant for me except when the server load is high.

I have no complaints really either, just noticed a little bit of lagging at times, but mostly it seemed to be pages like myspace and yahoo.com. If I clicked my tab for unleashed it loaded very quickly.?? Speaking of tabs, I love the tab bookmarks that you can put right under the address bar in firefox. Just a very smart idea, and just a random thought from me

Still slow. From what I understand is there are too many subscribers and an upgrade in bandwidth is needed.... Also, their webpage has been in the "upgrade" mode for about a year it seems....changed it a few months ago saying "we are upgrading" but nothing has happened. Warpspeed....I'm hangin in there and rootin for yall, but yall need to do something quick! Customers are getting irritated. Take a look here... www.baycitycable.com/comments.htm

See below as posted above in regards to cable internet. It is deceptive advertising in my opinion since your bandwidth is basically cut every time a new customer is added. That's the dirty little secret they don't tell you about. DSL, if you can get it is the way to go. Cable internet has it's drawbacks. From my understanding it's a node based system.
