I don't know what the deal is with my computer! Just got it about a week ago, and i keep getting kicked off the internet. The guy who built it said to try another browser, but the same thing keeps happening! Now I can't track him down...GRRRRRRRRRR! I can't afford the chance that something like that may happen while I'm doing an assignment online or something. Any idea what it could be? The messages that keep coming up say that there was a problem, but it doesn't say what or why...

Need to know the following...
1. Type of service (DSL, Cable, Dial Up)
2. Service Provider (Earthlink, SBC, AOHell, or local company.)
3. Means of internet connection (Router, Cable Modem, Phone Modem, DSL Modem.)
It could possibly the dialer settings if it is dial up and it could be the modem itself. Need specifics of what ya know to get started though.

Here's a quicky to check out. If you have MSOE (outlook express for email), open MSOE, click on Tools, Options, Connections, then make sure "Hang up after sending/receiving" is UNCHECKED. If it is checked, uncheck it, then don't forget to click on "Apply" bottom rt corner before clicking OK. Wouldn't hurt to do a restart before connecting again. Oh Yeah... if you have call wait then make sure to disable call wait on your dialer if you have dailup.. sometimes that'll kick you off when someone calls in.

If you're using Firefox it happens for some odd reason I have yet to determine. It usually happens only when I try to jump between the Admin profile and my regular profile. For some reason it tends to get confused easily in those regards. As such I've resorted back to using one browser for one profile and the other browser for the second profile.

If all else fails, do a system restore! Start> All Programs> Accessories> System Tools> System Restore. Restore it back to an original date when it was working properly. (If it will go back that far). You'll lose everything from the restore date to the present, but your computer will work again....hopefully! Good luck!
