I'll pop in from time to time. Who the heck does a Texan living in Ohio cheer for? Hell, I was born in Texas, I only moved here, you shouldn't have to ask that one. I hope Cleveland gets their asses kicked!

Spurs pull off sweep. Congrats. I don't watch the game much, not since the Rockets swept Shaq's Magic but enjoyed seeing that Robt Horry has added another NBA champs ring to his already growing collection.

Spurs have quietly built a class organization. They have tremendous front office personnel, a good coach and a team that is set on winning and not about building up their egos! I like 'em!

Except for the 1961 Houston Oilers of the AFL, and the Houston Rockets during the Drexler-Olajuwon championship years, and maybe the pro-hockey team when Gordie Howe played there, Houston as a major city in Texas, doesn't have the spectatular winning tradition of Dallas (thanks to the Cowboys) and San Antonio (thanks to the Spurs), prehaps b/c its known as the city who lines pro team owners pockets with cash while fielding players with potential on pro teams that have will never consistently be winners.
Houston is a city of Losers, professionally, politically, and socially. Its the only city in Texas that depends upon passage of legislation out of Austin to accomplish many of its goals. It's a sanctuary city, hub for illegal immigration, second only to Los Angeles; annually ranks below the nat'l standards in public education, has one of the lowest high school graduation rates in the nation; being the 4th largest city in America, can only manage to possess on major newspaper (and that's a liberal rag); and, being the center of U.S. home-based energy businesses, refiners & BigOil corps gets the blame for the high prices Americans pay at the pump.
As much as I'd like to see Houston have a decent, reliable winner of a pro-sports team, it deserves what it is willing to provide, nothing!
