no more than what the prison system taught us, in the event of riot or hostage taking by the convicts -- and then limited only to defensive measures ... and only a little bit more, with offensive tactics when was in armed forces (prior to going to Se.Asia in '68 + S.w.Asia in '91) ...
It is a fantastic sport with lots of cardiovascular work. I'm told you're a 4th degree BlackBelt; do you still compete?

I havent in about 8 years but i'm thinking about doing it again. I still workout 2 times a day so i'm still in shape but its alot different hitting or kicking a bag than it is going against a live body. I dont think i'll have any problems tho.

I took karate in college, but I would probably hurt myself if I tried it now.

I've made up my mind, No competition for me anymore, I could still do it and do it well but I'm getting to old for that. Its fun and it helps keep me in shape and every little bit helps, the weights I use mainly to keep the muscles tone and the martial arts helps to keep me somewhat flexible and that aint so easy these days. lol
