We will be taking care of a 1-year-old this weekend who broke out with chicken pox on Monday - 4/3. The doc says this was brought about by the immunization he got - so a mild case is expected. We always take this guy to church with us when we have him - and have several responsibilities there. Question: does it seem likely that we'll be able to take him or more likely that we won't? Need to cover our jobs for Sunday you think?
NOTE: I've posted this in the other forum as well. Curious to see what answers - if any - I get either place. The forum has always been my source of quick help. I don't want the recent divorce to damage that!

Personally, I would have someone cover your day if a all possible and stay home with the child. Mild or not it may still be infectious for the others adults as well as children. Remember not all adults have had that in their life. At least that's my thoughts. Hope the little bugger gets well soon. Just double checked with the wife. She knows her stuff and said that unless all the leasions are healed he is still infectious and could pass it to someone else. She said stay home stay home stay home. there ya have it. lol

Our kids had them way before the chicken pox immunization - and had bad cases of them. Didn't expect him to get this at all.
You have a good point about the adults - I was thinking of the kids and wasn't going to put him in the nursery or cradle roll class. Silly me hadn't thought about our older people. So stay home it is! I haven't seen him since he broke out so if he's all scabbed over I can uncover my bases much easier than covering them at the last minute.
Thanks! I know I could have figured this out myself, but having a little sympathy is nice. AND (drum roll) this forum wins! (confetti flying, noise makers blaring...) Got the first reply - and a nice one at that for a fairly "duh" topic.

But an important topic .. at least I think it is. We take it for granted that everyone has had all their shots and boosters, but that is not always the case. And the point about the seniors .. some may never have gotten the "pox" or the vaccine. Kind of like going to work sick .. just because you think that you need the money worse or that the company cant survive without you. Making everyone around you sick while being sick .. just makes it all worse, in my opinion.
I know .. not the same subject .. but close .. just had to point it out.
