I'll bet some of the people at El Campo Cycle Center know where he is. Especially Laura or James.

Where is Bobby from?
I am still believing that if his his car is in the river, that it does not necessarily mean that he is, as well.

I emailed Radio Station KSBJ 89.3 (really cool contemporary Christian radio station) about the situation and they asked all their listeners to pray for Bobby. We need all the prayers we can get.
Hopefully Bobby is somewhere trying to sort things out and will show up soon. Miracles still happen from time to time.
Please keep praying for him and his family, fans, coworkers and friends. I agree with an earlier post that he probably has no clue as to how many people care about him.

Statement from the family of Bobby Jones
We the family of Bobby Jones would, first of all, like to express our deepest and most sincere gratitude to everyone who has extended their prayers and love to us and to Bobby. We are just as shocked and distraught over this situation as are all of his loving fans. The impact of Bobby’s disappearance is being felt all over the country, because his fan-base is large and diverse. He has traveled, not just across Texas, but to several other states and even Europe, sharing his gift and bringing joy to the hearts of others. What has propelled Bobby to such immense popularity over such a long period is his dynamic personality that he exudes on stage. Furthermore, and more importantly, is that he has such a personal relationship with his fans, making them feel, not just like fans, but family.
But, Bobby we love you so very much, not because you are the Texas Polka King, but because you are our brother, without whom our family is incomplete. We eagerly await the day that we can laugh with you again, as we share the memories of our family that are unique only to us. We are praying for your safe return and we pray that the love and peace of Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour keep you and sustain you until you come back home to us.
Also, we would like to respectfully decline any requests for on-camera, newspaper or telephone interviews, as we are so very deeply grief-stricken and need private time as a family to cope with this situation.
Sincerely, The family of Bobby Jones

www.journal-spectator.com/story5.shtmlASK Billie - Bobby Jones belonged to everyone and each of us has stories to tell. We may never know what happened that tragic weekend but we do know the story of his life up until that time. I choose to believe that is the most important part of his story. Since my name is usually the first Jones listed in most telephone directories I received a lot of the calls meant for Bobby. Most were from fans requesting their favorite tunes on special days, but we made a game of it. The number of times I told folks how to get in touch with him was the number of cookies he owed me. Even better would be to arrive at KULP shortly after fresh kolaches had been dropped off. Listeners loved Bobby and kept him well fed. More than 15 years ago, Jerry Aulds asked if I would like to go over to KULP every other Tuesday morning and talk about Wharton happenings. The first years we had a spot around 9 a.m. and then it was decided that the best time would be earlier, shortly after the 7 a.m. news. That was good for me because it meant I could be back at the chamber before we opened at 8. The best part of the early move was to get to know Bobby Jones as a real friend. Of course we had all danced to his music, but that is different from real conversations. Bobby suggested that I call him each morning about 6:30, as I was leaving Wharton, so that he could start plugging our visit. A time with Bobby was really a visit and never once did we plan in advance what we would talk about. It was always fun and a perfect way to let folks know early in the day about events in Wharton and throughout the county. There was a running joke about how often I talked about the Wharton County 100 Club. Recently we met while grocery shopping in H-E-B and he wanted to know why I had not been over to talk about that favorite organization. I told him to get ready because we had a new project to build a Peace Officers Memorial. I am sorry that we did not get that visit. Bobby really enjoyed his Trading Post segment each day. He felt it was a way to stay in touch with his listeners and a way for some to pick up extra dollars and others to find needed items. He watched my dog, which usually is with me, out the large KULP window, and threatened to put her on the Trading Post. He was a fun guy. Thoughts are with the KULP family, because they are a family. You cannot live that closely every day of the week without strong bonds. They care about each other and Bobby was an integral part of the group. Bobby’s early morning radio time meant that he was up and on the road at 4 a.m. He talked about that a lot and the nearest route from his home to KULP was to turn on Elm Street off River Road, go under the underpass at Dinosaur Park and back on business 59 for El Campo. Yes, there have been all kinds of speculations about the disappearance of Bobby. I prefer to believe his car, for whatever reason, failed to make the curve under the underpass. The Bobby Jones I choose to remember was on his way to prepare for his Saturday morning Polka Time. Now that makes sense...

I saw him at riceland chevrolet. (my buddy the master mechanic that went to RFC said thats Bobby Jones) Then I saw him at one of his gigs at a church picnic and he was so polite and cordial I was surprised how cool he was. (it was like we knew each other) I choose to believe he is still hiding somewhere getting the help he needed. We all need help sometimes. The car may be empty. he may be gone down stream or we may never know he may be in another country making other people happy.

it's more of a recovery now than a rescue so my understanding is that they will not risk injury or death, they will wait till the river recedes..........i know that suck's but i do understand the reasoning

oh i'm not saying that the recovery/search effort didn't make sense...the whole situation is just bizarre. to me, it seems if he was planning on doing it he would have left a note behind?!

For all we know he was so stressed he pushed the car into the water and left w/someone else. I hope that or something of that sort is the case and he'll be back with us when he is ready. I'm sure his family is hanging on to that possibility and I'm hanging on to it with them as are many others.
In tragic situations, even in the face of stark reality there is still a glimmer of hope.

we all feel that way....but really....if that was true, why wouldn't the police just go verify it. if your statement isn't true...then just how bad are you going to feel. sometimes it's better to not post things.
