My computer has really been giving me problems. I think I need to backup the important stuff before it croaks. Can someone tell the simpliest way to do that. Never done it before. Thanks, Ricebird...........

I purchased a backup drive large enough to put all my important files. I have a 80 gig Maxtor that works great for what I have. I just recently purchased a 500 gig drive for our trip back to the Czech Republic. I plan on burning up our camera taking pictures of anything that'll stand still long enough.

Ricebird, it really depends on what you have and how much you want to spend. In the $100 range you can get a good sized back up hard drive that plugs into your USB. In the $50 and under you can get a portable jump drive which is more flexible but does not hold as much information. The online back up services are getting more and more popular now days, I'm just not sure I'd trust someone else with my back up files. If you already have a cd burner or a dvd burner, then just back up to disk. I do have all my files on a back up hard drive, but important things that I do not want to loose I burn to dvd just for added insurance.
With most of these processes you can just drag and drop the information on them to save it or copy it over which ever is easiest for you. If you need help with that, IM me. Also Do not forget to back up your E-mail, your address book and your favorites.
