I looked in the Houston paper this afternoon and the Houston people do not give EC much of a chance on winning next Friday I guess-------here is a C/P of their thoughts
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
. Can Yates repeat as Class 4A state champions? As long as they can avoid bad luck and the motivation still exists, the Lions look poised to go back-to-back. The Lions, who went 34-1 last season en route to their first University Interscholastic League title, return all five starters and 11 lettermen, including their trio of star guards: Darius Gardner, Brandon Peters and Joseph Young. With preseason national rankings from several polls, the real question is, can the Lions go undefeated?
The Standing in THEIR view---
lass 4A/Others 1. Yates 2. La Marque 3. Jones 4. Wheatley 5. Westbury Christian 6. Washington 7. Friendswood 8. Brenham 9. Second Baptist 10. Kingwood Park

--------------------C/P from Houston Chron.------------------
And for those of you looking for broadcast information, it looks like both Class 5A games as well as both Class 4A games will be broadcast live in some form or fashion. And I know many of you are curious about the local conflict between the Katy game and the Rockets on Saturday. You can check David Barron's TV-radio notebook for details and also, the information is below: • Katy-Abilene (5A Div. II title) TV: Fox Sports Plus (in Houston) — Comcast 76; DirecTV 676; Dish Network 416; AT&T U-Verse 763, 756 and 1753 (in HD). Comcast will air the game in standard-def only.
• Brenham-Aledo (4A Div. II title) TV: Fox Sports Plus — Comcast 76; DirecTV 677; Dish Network 448. Game will also be Webcast on FoxSportsHouston.com
• Euless Trinity-Austin Westlake (5A Div. I title) TV: Fox Sports Southwest and Fox Sports Houston — Comcast 37, DirecTV 676, Dish Network 416
• Lake Travis-Longview (4A Div. I title) TV: Webcast on FoxSportsSouthwest.com and LegacySportsNetwork.com
