Oh yes, big waterfowler here but not in Wharton county. Mostly in Matagorda cnty and up near Lissie in Colorado cnty. Am more prone to puddle ducks that frequent potholes, woodlands, sloughs & marshes -- mallards, mottled ducks, teal, gadwalls, smiling mallards, woodduck, sprig, etc -- than prefer (not) to hunt bay ducks that frequent salty habitats like redheads, canvasbacks, butterballs, mergansers, and such. By my books puddle jumpers way more tasty than bay runners that feed mostly on fish and crustaceans. Also into other migratory gamebird sports like goose hunting, early teal season, rails, snipe, woodc0ck, dove, and gallinules. Now that these seasons have ended, all that's left is shooting fish in a barrel.
