Wrangler, be strong it's so worth it when you get the results you were looking for. I am so proud of myself, I made it through the holidays and didn't gain any of my weight back. Fight for it, you'll be glad you did.

I really enjoy ground turkey. To me, it's nearly as good as beef and tastes alot like it. Heck of a lot less fat too. Does anybody else use this as a substitute?

Yes! In Taco's, Mexican Casseroles, add pkg Taco Mix almost cover with water light simmer, stirring till almost done.. this keeps it moist. I like to drain and chop up onion and jalapeno, maybe add corn and cheese...then cover with cornbread mix (per instructions on pkg) and make a sort cornbread pie.. Also good poured over Rice or Pasta, may wish to add tomato paste or sauce. Substitute ground turkey (using water method) and add to chili con queso or your favorite King Ranch Casserole... yumski!!!
Sloppy Joe's work with ground turkey too.. Meat loafs!! or sustitute FOR chipped or ground beef with creamed gravy on toast (SOS).
Note on the Meat Loaf: Using the simmer in water method with the taco mix, cooking till almost done, instead of crackers or bread crumbs, I pulverise some corn tortillas .. chop up onions and jalapenos too

I highly recommend A&W DIET Roop Beer! Does NOT have that sweetner aftertaste. Splenda Brown Sugar, expensive but great on Oatmeal and for Coffee.. again, no aftertaste. Smart Balance Margarine... Closest you can get to the taste of butter ..
and thanks for the Compliment SRV Child..

Taste tip from DirtyDon: If your 2% or lower fat cheese doesn't really have that REAL CHEESE taste, give it a coupla spurts of your Butter Flavored Non Stick Pam or Equivilant .. it's supposed to be NO Calorie.. Also do that when baking something I want to have that "Fried" taste.. on the Oven Baked "Fried" goodies... you can experiment with a potato.. slice it up French Fry style... Nuke in the Microwave until cooked.. then put in the toaster oven or real oven sprayed with the non stick spray of your choice and get an Idea how to make it work

I use it in place of anything that calls for hamburger meat, since I pretty much don't eat red meat anymore. I can't tell the difference between the two. And yes alot less fat.

I need to get some ground turkey and make something... think I'll read thru the Bisquick Recipes (Low Cal Version) for some sort of Impossible Pie and use it instead of Hamburger... I'm seeing cubed carrots, chopped onions, sliced jalapenos, cubed Jícama instead of potato, sliced mushrooms and creme of mushroom soup for soupiness.. con queso mejicano.. Mexicanise it... chili powder, comino, and the like.. yeah... iClaro! i'Orale Homes!
would adding some Jolly Green Giant green peas overdo the veggies? would contribute to the color presentation

speaking of Jícama .. peel and cut up in strips like french fries, slice some limes, have some salt and some good Chile Powder, like La Trucha found in the Fruit Section of HEB.. squeese some lime juice on a stick, salt or sprinkle with the chile powder... Tastes great! iHay Mucho Sabor!

Dirty, I'm still wondering if you have tried Kashi. It's better than oatmeal.

curious to know if anyone is now or was a member of Curves. Did you like, if not, why not? Also, there use to be a place similar to that in Wharton next to Payless that was for women only, is it still open?

Mmmmmmm.....fuji apples!!! I used to think an apple was an apple and then I tried one. Very sweet and not tart...like candy. Love 'em! I also like using ground turkey instead of ground beef. I don't miss the beef at all. Now I use ground turkey for any recipe calling for ground beef. It's great!

I'm down 4 pounds just from being sick as a dog and not eating much. Bet when I get my appetite back, I'll put it all back on and more. Hope not though.

Wow, the winter months have not been nice to me let me tell yall. Time to get off the hump and get busy. With the crazy hours the wife works now in the ER it finally seems I'll have to learn how to cook. As it stands now it has to be done because I can't keep eating the crap I've been for certain. The alternative is living on almonds and Pringles. Not good at all. Exercising is a different issue altogether. A recumbent cycle is good on my bad knees. Too many years of doing stupid stuff caught up to me on those poor fellas.
Any advice on weight machines that take up little space and have various exercises?
